Job summary

TechMet Ltd. in Omagh seeks a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a fast-paced FMCG site. Shift patterns rotate across days, evenings, nights and weekends, with a 45k salary.

The role focuses on maintaining plant and equipment, diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, and responding to callouts to keep production lines running smoothly. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical qualification or time-served apprenticeship.
• Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a fast-paced manufacturing env.
• Strong written, numerical and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant and equipment, ensuring reliable operation.
• Ensure auxiliary services (steam, air, water) are maintained effectively.
• Diagnose faults on electrical control panels and systems.
• Respond to callouts on a rota to support production.
• Apply professional work ethic and ensure timely completion of maintenance.

Job description

Based in Omagh, we are looking to appoint an engineer for a FMCG business. Opportunity to move away from weekend work. Full shift pattern provided on application or can be discussed on the phone.

Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, working a rotating 8-hour shift pattern, 5 days per week across days, evenings, nights and weekends, 45k

• Contribute to the timely and effective maintenance of all plant and equipment, as required.
• Ensure, as directed, that all auxiliary services (i.e. steam, air, water etc.) plant, equipment and distribution systems are maintained in a proper and efficient manner.
• Carry out methodical and effective diagnostic procedures and fault rectification to electrical control panels and systems as necessary.
• Respond to callouts as and when required, on a rota basis, to ensure continuity of engineering support to the factory.
• Apply a professional work ethic, so that breakdowns and planned maintenance activities are attended to promptly and seen through to satisfactory completion.
• Ensure that a safe working environment for self, work colleagues and equipment is always maintained and apply good house-keeping skills.

Assist in the effective monitoring and control of spares stock control system.

Requirements -

• Relevant NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification/recognized time Electrical served apprenticeship OR Relevant NVQ Level 3 Mechanical engineering qualification/Mechanical recognized time served apprenticeship.
• A minimum of 2 years’ post qualification experience working as a technician within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Strong written, numerical and verbal skills.

• Saturday overtime if wishing to work is paid at 1.5x
• Sunday is 2x
• Bank Holiday is 1.5x plus day in lieu
• Up to 10% matched pension
