Main Duties of the M&E Technician

You will have extensive understanding of Critical Facilities/Data Centre infrastructure (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & associated assets). As part of the engineering shift team, you will be responsible for inspection, operation, and maintenance of all assets within the critical facility, focusing on risk management and service quality, leading the shift team effectively.

Ensure personnel conduct is safe, professional, and conscientious. Attend site meetings with or on behalf of the client as needed. Promote a Safety-First culture, leading through your knowledge of safe systems of work and compliance.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate all MEP systems confidently (including MV/LV Electrical isolations/operations). Recommend improvements and produce technical reports.
• Ensure efficient completion of vendor service visits, inspecting work quality and communicating findings.
• Maintain minimum staffing levels.
• Accurately report work completed, including critical spares/stock usage via the Corrigo platform.
• Review and prepare MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs; participate in drills.
• Complete weekly reports highlighting significant activities.
• Participate in Health and Safety activities, including hazard reporting and Toolbox Talks.
• Ensure compliance with JLL MEP processes, managing risk documentation for critical works.
• Coordinate with supply chain for M&E components.
• Perform Site Specific Technical Assessments and Skills Gap Analyses.
• Maintain areas under JLL control to standards.
• Complete Work Orders within SLA.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• At least 5 years in Critical Environments such as Data Centres.
• LV Authorised Person (preferred).
• Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• C&G Pts. 1 & 2, or similar.
• 18th Edition IEE Wiring & Installation (or able to attain).
• C&G 2391 testing and inspection; BS 7671:2001.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proactive with high operational standards.
• Good IT and report writing skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver within deadlines.
