Job summary

Epwin Group is seeking a Shift Production Coordinator to support day-to-day management of Production Teams, coordinating activities, processes and systems to meet targets. You will back shift managers, monitor staff, drive health and safety, training, and continuous improvement, while delivering strong customer service and maintaining product quality.

This role is based in the UK, with opportunities to develop leadership skills and work within a values-driven manufacturing environment.

• Health and safety for supervisors (In-house).
• Lean/Six Sigma training (In-house).

• Mentor new staff and support shift managers in supervision and development.

Job description

The role of shift production coordinator is to assist with the day to day management of the Production Teams, coordinating the activities, processes and systems whilst ensuring organisational targets are met. Also supporting the shift team managers undertaking aspects of shift supervision, staff utilisation, identifying training & development opportunities & supporting health & safety within the production environment.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure completion of all company documentation.
• Extrusion hall housekeeping is maintained at the required standard
• Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
• Aid the shift managers with the assessment of risks
• Continually monitor staff behaviour through adequate supervision
• Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported.
• Actively encourage an HSE culture by carrying out regular area walks.
• Champion continual improvement activity and act as a change agent.
• Maintain a flexible approach to operations
• Transfer the knowledge and skills amongst the team (others).
• Deliver excellent customer service and build strong working relationships with customers (Internal + External)
• Liaise with support services to solve work problems.
• Ensure plans and deadlines are met.
• Ensure all product inspections are completed as per the company’s product quality plan
• Work closely with the shift management team to ensure manufacturing targets are achieved.
• Lead by example in terms of shift representation (Fire Warden / First Aider)
• Ensure the positive integration of all new employees and act as a mentor.
• Carry out any reasonable request as requested by shift management.
• Alert relevant people to process and product concerns.
• Agree and complete training and development requirements as determined by the Team Manager and the training plan.
• Safeguard property issued by the company
• Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
• Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
• Represent the organisation in a positive way as to avoid the damage of corporate image or bringing the company into disrepute.
• Promote and Display the Epwin Core Values.
