Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking a Shift Manager to join our Operations team in Clitheroe. Lead shop floor activities to deliver production plans, drive KPI performance, and ensure product quality and safety across shifts.

You'll manage large teams, implement continuous improvement, and collaborate with QA to meet standards. The role offers permanent, full-time hours with a focus on developing people and maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar operational leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience leading and managing large operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of production performance, labour planning, waste reduction and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead shop floor operations to deliver production plans on time, to quality standards and within labour targets.
• Drive operational performance through KPI management, including OEE, waste, labour efficiency, cost and non-conformance.
• Monitor production performance, investigate operational and quality issues, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Ensure materials, resources and processes are in place to support efficient production.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimise performance and challenge existing standards.
• Lead regular team briefings to communicate performance, priorities and business updates.
• Collaborate with QA and cross-functional teams to maintain food safety, product quality, traceability and compliance.
• Support new product development (NPD) trials, operational reporting and factory improvement projects.
• Coach, motivate and develop teams, supporting Group Leaders and driving accountability, engagement and performance.
• Manage skills development, communication and team recognition to build a high-performing culture.
• Promote a strong health, safety and food safety culture, ensuring compliance and addressing unsafe practices promptly.
