Job summary

PRS Recruitment Agency is seeking an experienced Shift Plumber / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established client in Denmark Hill, London. The role focuses on planned preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault finding, and ensuring plant and building services remain fully operational.

Applicants should hold City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent, with proven maintenance plumbing experience and strong safety awareness.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Plumber, Shift Plumber or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.
• Strong practical knowledge of plumbing and mechanical building services.
• Experience with both PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a shift team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in a timely and efficient manner.
• Complete reactive maintenance works promptly and effectively.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing and mechanical faults.
• Carry out basin, tap and sanitaryware replacements.
• Undertake general building services and mechanical maintenance.
• Complete minor fabric works, including repairs to doors, locks and fixtures.
• Ensure the site and associated plant and equipment remain fully operational.
• Respond to maintenance issues and emergencies as required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation.
• Ensure all works comply with Health & Safety and site compliance requirements.
• Work effectively as part of a professional shift maintenance team.
