Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Shift Mechanic at its Cumbria site to provide onsite maintenance and engineering support on a continuous shift pattern. You will work within a proactive maintenance team to maximise OEE, perform planned maintenance and tackle both routine and complex tasks on printing presses and extrusion lines.

The role requires experience in industrial engineering, time-served qualifications, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Time served as an Industrial Mechanical Technician.
• Experience in an industrial engineering environment.
• ONC / HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of PUWER regulations.
• Lifting and slinging.
• MEWP & forklift tuck licence (desirable).
• IOSH Working Safely (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Onsite maintenance and engineering support for site assets to ensure OEE is maximised.
• Working on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Completing planned maintenance tasks.
• Prioritising workload.
• Working in a positive manner and is open to a new tasks and challenges.
• Fully utilise Stock control systems including input, management and improvement activities associated within.
• Training and development of co-workers as required i.e. apprentices and other maintenance department staff.
• Engineering Maintenance and fault finding on advanced industrial machinery; including, but not limited to, printing presses and blown film extrusion lines.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and compliant manner.
• Working on a shift pattern, as part of a maintenance team providing 24hour, 7-day breakdown services for a busy manufacturing site.
• Ability to use CMMS system for maintenance purposes.
