Job summary

Five Guys in the United Kingdom is looking for a proactive Shift Manager to lead our front-line team on a busy dining floor. You will drive guest satisfaction, coach crew, and ensure operations run smoothly across service periods.

With a focus on food hygiene, safety, and delivering a fun, energetic environment, you will motivate staff and uphold Five Guys standards. This is a full-time on-site role requiring flexibility for shifts.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of management experience in a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment.
• Obsessed with guest experience and able to prove it with results.
• Knowledge of running profitable shifts, managing crew breaks, minimising waste, and deploying staff efficiently during rush.
• Natural motivator who leads by example and engages the team.
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front on the shop floor, managing staff on the line and dining area.
• Support the General Manager in delivering a perfect burgers and fries experience.

AS A SHIFT MANAGER, YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Our people - Leading from the front and being hands-on, working on the line and on the dining area
• Supporting the General Manager in the delivery of perfect burgers and fries while providing a above & beyond experience for your team and customers

• Ensuring every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience - You will deal with complaints promptly in an open and honest way
• You will ensure that each shift runs as smoothly as possible and that our values form part of your shift management

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Experience: Ideally, you have at least 1 year of management experience in a similar role within a high-volume hospitality or QSR environment. You know what it takes to run a busy shift and keep the energy high.

Customer Satisfaction: You are obsessed with the guest experience and have the numbers to prove it. You have a track record of driving customer satisfaction scores, increasing engagement, and consistently delivering excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews.

Financial Responsibility: You understand the basics of running a profitable shift, managing crew breaks, minimising food waste, and deploying the team effectively during the rush.

Leadership Skills: You are a natural motivator who enjoys being hands-on. You lead by example and know how to get the best out of the Crew during a busy service.

Operational Excellence: You have a good working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards and know how to enforce them on the line.

Flexibility: You are available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
