Shift Manager - Afternoons

Salary: up to £31,500 (DEO) + shift allowance

Hours: 2pm - 10.30pm Mon - Fri.

Location: Elland, HX5

Duration: Permanent

Stafflex are actively recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established company who are partnered with other well-established district councils, recyclers, manufacturers, and retailers! This is a great opportunity for an experienced Shift Manager who is keen to join a vibrant and positive team as well as, being keen to take part in their continued success and growth.

Responsibilities

• Arrange, produce, and document shift patterns / Preparation of the shift including shift briefing and site inspection.
• Organising production throughput, allocation of job roles and traffic management.
• Manage the offloading and loading of vehicles according to the traffic management plan.
• Prepare the site for the receipt of existing, new, and projected volumes of material.
• Assist with general maintenance requirements.
• Maintaining a safe working environment.
• Ensure permit requirements are met.
• Ensure high standards of production discipline are maintained. / Ensure compliance with company regulations, including working hours, health and safety, and site permitting.
• Measure productivity and ensure KPIs are met.
• Performance manage staff and provide training, coaching and support to the team.

Requirements

• You must be a strong leader with good interpersonal and people management skills.
• Experience in managing a team and ideally within the waste recycling industry.
• Good problem-solving abilities and an adaptable person who is willing to work in a hands-on role.
• WAMITAB - Level 4 (Aka CoTC - Certificate of Technical Competence) in hazardous waste treatment/transfer is an advantage but not essential.
