SHIFT MANAGER

Hours: MONDAY - FRIDAY: 0700-1600

Day to Day Duties:

Working as a Shift Manager for our client your duties will be:

• Time and absence management.
• Email, verbal and phone call communication skills.
• WMS systems- they use DLX
• Health and safety driven, drive the warehouse team to follow all health and safety requirements.
• Manage direct reports.
• Investigations of incidents.
• Daily checks for warehouse.
• Flexible approach to hours.
• Manage daily work load for multi customers.
• This is a working role so there will be times there is expectations of working on the shop floor along side the colleagues.
• Inbound and outbound management.
• To organise, prioritise and manage the activities within the operation to ensure deadlines are met .
• To control costs and embrace a culture of continuous improvement, constantly looking for cost cutting initiatives.
• Investigations of incidents.

Essential Skills:

As a Shift Manager it is essential that you:

• Confident decision maker.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills.
• Excellent people management skills.
• Excellent communication skills – written, telephone and in person.

Desirable Skills:

As a Shift Manager it is desirable that you:

• Previous supervisory experience within a similar environment .
• Analytical and logical approach to problem solving.
• Skilled in warehouse activities.
• Good administration and organisational skills.
• Able to supervise and communicate with all levels of colleagues.
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as leading a team.
• Good understanding of spreadsheets and other Microsoft packages.
• Flexible with work hours, days and able to work overtime as required.
