Coveris Gainsborough is seeking a proactive Shift Engineer to bolster our maintenance team. You will support a robust PPM programme, troubleshoot faults, and collaborate with Engineering and Operations to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role emphasizes multi-skill capability, strong time management, and a commitment to CI initiatives, with opportunities for development within a climate-controlled, permanent setting.

Qualifications

• Good attendance and timekeeping.
• Ability to multi-skill between electrical and mechanical tasks.
• Knowledge of the flexible packaging industry would be an advantage.
• Flexibility in their approach.
• Organisational and self-motivational skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative without supervision.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages would be an advantage.
• Willingness to participate in CI, 5S and lean manufacturing techniques and practises.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Engineering Manager to ensure a smooth and effective maintenance department.
• Always ensure maximum machine availability.
• React to faults and breakdowns as priority.
• Work in line with a PPM Programme.
• Work within a dedicated budget.
• Liaise with external contractors.
• Record and update key engineering data.
• Embed the health and safety culture throughout the department.
