Job Description

Location: Bayley & Sage, 34 New Kings Rd, London SW6 4ST

Bayley and Sage is a small group of 13 independent stores serving local communities across South West London. We pride ourselves on offering seasonal, high-quality products and fostering an inclusive, respectful culture that encourages growth.

Our success is driven by our dedicated team, especially our Shift Leaders, who play a key role in daily operations.

What You'll Do

• Manage shifts and assist (or deputize for) the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, including stock availability, staffing, store presentation, quality checks, and maintenance.
• Ensure proper handover between shifts.
• Supervise team members, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Assist in maximizing sales and minimizing waste, meeting daily and weekly targets.
• Maintain accurate POS and labeling.
• Participate in team training, development, and supervision, leading by example.
• Support health and safety compliance in line with legislation and company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Process deliveries of ambient, fresh, packaging, and consumable goods.
• Display and merchandise stock, check sell-by/use-by dates, and record stock rotation.
• Serve customers, process transactions, and pack groceries.
• Dispose of waste correctly and perform general cleaning duties.
