Job summary

Chesterfield Poultry Ltd in Doncaster (UK) is seeking a Shift Manager to support the Production Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

You will supervise production floor activities, monitor KPIs (OEE, yield, downtime), coordinate with Quality Assurance, dispatch and maintenance teams, and train staff on SOPs and safety procedures. Rotating shifts with weekend work during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in food manufacturing and dispatch operations.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and ISO/FSSC standards.
• Shift patterns and weekend work as required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities on the floor.
• Monitor targets (volume, OEE, yield, efficiency) and adjust schedules.
• Coordinate with QA, dispatch and maintenance teams.
• Train staff on SOPs and safety procedures.
• Manage attendance, discipline and performance issues.
• Prepare daily/weekly performance summaries.
• Oversee line leaders and dispatch operations.
