Job summary

Tesco Shift Lead in the United Kingdom is a frontline leadership role within our stores. You’ll guide teams to deliver a great in-store experience, coordinate across departments and ensure smooth daily operations, while staying customer focused and adaptable.

We offer a guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week with flexible shifts, competitive hourly pay starting at £15.59 and rising to £16.86 in M25 stores, plus benefits like holiday, discounts and retirement schemes.

You will be responsible for

• Leading the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store.
• Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries.
• Building positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.
• Confidently leading the store in the Manager’s absence.
• Making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to change.
• Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role modelling great service.
• Staying curious and seeking opportunities to serve our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day.

You will need

• To be over 18 for this role.
• Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer’s needs are met.
• Build positive, long lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
• A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
• A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
