Job summary

Tesco is seeking a Shift Lead to help run our store operations, delivering a high standard of customer service and leading the team across departments. The role includes overseeing daily activities, supporting colleagues, and acting as the on-floor lead when the Store Manager is unavailable.

Candidates should have prior team leadership experience in a fast-paced retail environment, be an effective communicator, and demonstrate a passion for service excellence.

Tesco Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what we’re looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

• Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast‑paced retail environment.

• A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
• A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
