The Shift Leader reports directly to the Technical & Fabric Services Supervisor with direct line management responsibility for the engineer on their shift. This role is accountable for effective people management and serves as a key stakeholder in delivering critical facility operations with 100% uptime standards.
Lead, coordinate and lead the site-based engineering team in delivering the JLL engineering service commitments. Provide direct line management for respective team. Perform appraisals for direct reports and set clear individual objectives. Handle HR administration including sickness, return to work, and investigations. Coach team members to ensure consistent capability across the engineering team. Own the delivery function of engineering and fabric maintenance and reactive repairs to high standard holding their team and themselves to account.
Operate all facility systems competently, effectively and efficiently
Lead on delivering of building systems including MEP & Fabric assets
Ensure compliance & statutory tasks are completed on time
Monitor utilities usage and report abnormalities or energy savings to client
Support in identifying onsite critical spares including site stock register and monthly auditing. Update asset database accuracy and updates within the CAFM System
Provide emergency engineering relief cover
Act as the Duty Authorised Person (LV) if required
Work alongside Permitted contractors and ensure they’re working in accordance with their respective Safe System of Work
Own the delivery of PPM and reactive tasks, ensuring reporting shows positive
Lead and deliver the team’s service delivery, including quality & completion of tasks
Identification of critical plant and materials required to keep the client’s plant functioning effectively
Supervise sub-contractors through planned and reactive maintenance, reporting on findings and driving forward solutions with the client
Ensure Plant areas, workshops, stores, changing and rest areas etc. are kept to the highest level of housekeeping driving standards through the team
Participate alongside team members on Event Days, attendance may be required outside of business hours, this may also be required depending on event criticality
Coordinate with key stakeholders across the Event’s planning teams in addition to the FM team, building solid relationships and trust to be the ‘trusted partner’ in respect of MEP & Fabric
Work closely with Account Team to achieve 100% Critical Facilities uptime
Attend operations meetings and client meetings as requested
Support projects, contractors, and planned/reactive MEP & F works
Ensure immediate notification of critical equipment issues with relevant reports and recommendations
Ensure team are providing accurate and complete details on their PPM tasks
Ensure accurate information is supplied for client and internal reporting
Support in compiling detail feeding into the engineering risk register
Report back to management on critical systems availability and asset reliability
Handle critical incident (2-2-2) and near miss reporting with after-action reviews. Provide technical reports and improvement recommendations as required
Manage debit and WIP review and updates.
Proactively promote "Safety First" culture in line with JLL Cardinal Rules of Safety.
Ensure safe, professional and conscientious conduct of all Personnel
Drive Health and Safety culture throughout the team
Apply knowledge of safe systems of work and compliance requirements.
Communicate and implement technical/legislative updates effectively
Participate actively in site escalation processes including on-call emergency response
Provide ONWH support for critical works when required
Become familiar with REM contract administrative requirements and JLL processes.
