Job summary

NG Bailey in Wembley is seeking a skilled HVAP Shift Lead to oversee critical building operations in a 24/7 environment. You will lead engineering teams, manage M&E performance, and ensure safe systems of work.

The role requires HVAP status, 18th Edition, and Level 3 electrical qualification; you will coordinate PMs, isolations, permits to work, and incident response. Attractive package and progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification.
• HVAP status and experience in critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift engineering operations in a critical environment.
• Monitor plant performance via BMS and CAFM.
• Complete PPMs, reactive tasks and compliance within SLA.
• Manage HVAP responsibilities, including isolations and permits to work.
• Oversee incident management and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain shift logs and technical reports.
• Supervise contractors and engineering teams.
• Support energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide shift cover and operational support when required.

Your Role

As a HVAP Shift Lead, you will oversee critical building operations in a mission-critical environment. Your leadership will ensure compliance with safe systems of work while maintaining the performance and reliability of essential M&E infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shift engineering operations within a critical environment
• Monitor and manage plant performance via BMS and CAFM systems
• Ensure all PPMs, reactive tasks, and statutory compliance activities are completed within SLA
• Manage HVAP responsibilities, including isolations, permits to work, and safe systems of work
• Oversee incident management, escalations, and emergency response procedures
• Maintain accurate shift logs, technical reports, and operational documentation
• Supervise contractors and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery
• Support energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide shift cover and operational support when required

Requirements

• NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification
• Previous experience in a critical environment, data centre, or high-profile commercial site
• HV Authorised Person (HVAP) status is essential
• Strong understanding of critical M&E systems, BMS, and CAFM platforms
• Experience leading engineering teams in a shift environment
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
