Job summary

PRS is seeking an experienced HV AP Shift Technician to join a major London data centre operation. You will operate and maintain critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, performing HV/LV switching and electrical isolations, and acting as HV AP to ensure safe work practices.

The role involves responding to faults, completing planned maintenance, and supporting shutdowns and commissioning within a high-availability facility backed by UPS, generators and switchgear.

Qualifications

• HV Authorised Person/HV SAP required.
• Strong electrical engineering background.
• Experience in data centres or mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
• Carry out HV/LV switching and electrical isolations.
• Act as HV Authorised Person, ensuring safe systems of work.
• Respond to electrical and mechanical faults and incidents.
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance.
• Work with UPS, generators, switchgear and transformers.
• Support planned shutdowns, testing and commissioning activities.
• Ensure all works comply with SOPs, EOPs, RAMS, PTW and LOTO procedures.
• Maintain accurate engineering and compliance records.
• Work as part of a shift-based engineering team in a high-availability environment.

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced HV AP Shift Technician to join a major data centre operation in London, supporting a highly critical 24/7 facility.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with strong HV/LV electrical experience and data centre, critical infrastructure or other mission-critical experience.

The Role

• Operate and maintain critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure
• Carry out HV/LV switching and electrical isolations
• Act as an HV Authorised Person, ensuring safe systems of work
• Respond to electrical and mechanical faults and incidents
• Complete planned and reactive maintenance
• Work with UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers and associated distribution systems
• Support planned shutdowns, testing and commissioning activities
• Ensure all works comply with SOPs, EOPs, RAMS, PTW and LOTO procedures
• Maintain accurate engineering and compliance records
• Work as part of a shift-based engineering team within a high-availability environment

We're Looking For

• HV Authorised Person / HV SAP experience
• Strong electrical engineering background
• Experience working within data centres, critical facilities, industrial, healthcare, utilities or other mission-critical environments
• Knowledge of HV/LV distribution systems
• Experience with UPS, generators, switchgear and electrical infrastructure
• Strong understanding of safe systems of work
