Job description

The Shift Lead for Community ENT will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of ENT clinics, ensuring the delivery of a safe, effective, and high-quality service. The post holder will independently manage nurse-led ear care clinics, providing assessment, treatment, and microsuction procedures within their scope of practice. Working closely with Consultants, multidisciplinary team members, and Care Support Workers, the post holder will provide clinical leadership, support service development, and ensure clinics run efficiently to meet patient needs. They will play a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care, coordinating clinic activities, and supporting the development of junior staff and support workers.,

• Lead and coordinate the day-to-day running of Community ENT clinics.
• Undertake independent nurse-led ear care and microsuction clinics.
• Provide clinical leadership and support to Care Support Workers.
• Work collaboratively with Consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure a high standard of patient care, safety, and experience.
• Support service improvement initiatives and the delivery of performance targets.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with professional and organisational standards.

24 hours per week (Wednesday - Friday), The post holder is responsible for the management of the nursing unit/department during the shift, including theorganisation of the nursing unit/department activities and the management of staff and resources. The post holder will support the Lead Nurse and Matron in developing and monitoring services and the quality of care experienced by patients.
