Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting an AutoStore Shift Lead for a large automated warehouse in the West Midlands. You will own the day-to-day AutoStore operation, acting as the main contact for IT bugs, admin issues, breakdowns and troubleshooting to keep the system running smoothly.

The role involves helping with teething issues after AutoStore launch, with a shuttle system planned for bulk-picking; the site is around 65,000 sq ft and about 200 UK-wide employees.

AutoStore Shift Lead

West Midlands area

Shift: 10:00am - 6:00pm
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for an experienced AutoStore Shift Lead to join a growing operation that is taking its first major steps into warehouse automation.

The Role & Opportunity

You'll take ownership of the day-to-day AutoStore operation, acting as the key point of contact for IT bugs, admin issues, breakdowns and troubleshooting, ensuring the system runs smoothly and disruption is minimised.

The AutoStore system was recently launched and implemented within three months, so there are some natural teething issues to resolve. AutoStore currently supports the site's online operation, with a shuttle system planned for the future to support the bulk-picking operation. The site is approximately 65,000 sq. ft. with around 200 employees UK-wide.

You’ll also play an important role in change management and continuous improvement as the site develops its automation strategy, with strong progression opportunities available as the operation grows.

About You

We're looking for someone with previous experience working with either an AutoStore system or an Ocado grid.

You should have:

• Experience in an automated warehouse environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience dealing with system issues and breakdowns.
• The ability to take ownership of AutoStore-related issues.
• A proactive approach and confidence working in a fast-changing environment.
