Job summary

B&Q Middlesbrough is seeking a part-time Shift Lead to cover 25 hours per week with a permanent contract. The role pays £14.50 per hour (about £18,850 per year) plus a pension and 6.6 weeks' holiday. You will oversee shifts, support opening/closing, and be the first point of contact for staff and customers.

You’ll ensure a safe shopping environment, deploy colleagues, and foster a store culture where customers feel valued and teams enjoy working together.

As a keyholder, you'll be required to support either store opening or store closing duties. This means shifts can start as early as 5am or finish as late as 11pm, depending on the needs of the business. Role

Your role as a Shift Lead is pivotal in ensuring a safe working and shopping environment. You're the person who will oversee your shift to cultivate a great experience for both colleagues and customers daily. It's B&Q's ambition to make every customer count, so you'll strive to ensure B&Q is a place colleagues love to work, and customers love to shop. In this role you will:

• Be the heartbeat of the store day-to-day and ensure operations are running smoothly.
• Make sure colleagues are deployed correctly to 'make every customer count' throughout your shift.
• Be the first point of contact for customers and colleagues.
• Make sure our stores are safe at all times.
