Job summary

Tarmac is seeking a Shift Fitter to join the Alfreton site in Derbyshire. The role involves day and night shifts (6am–6pm and 6pm–6am) across plant areas with a focus on machinery maintenance and safety compliance.

The candidate will operate within a dynamic team, recording work in the CMMS, and contributing to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement at the UK’s leading sustainable building materials company.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance on production machinery.
• Experience meeting statuary and SHE standards.
• Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
• Experience in maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day maintenance on production machinery (planned and reactive).
• Meet statuary and SHE standards as a minimum.
• Work across various plant areas on a planned or reactive basis.
• Record all work on the site CMMS system.
• Communicate effectively in a dynamic, self-motivated role.
