Job summary

Tarmac Trading Limited is seeking a Shift Fitter to perform day-to-day maintenance on production machinery across our block manufacturing site. You will log all work in the CMMS and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical parts, fittings, and a proactive, communicative approach. IOSH training is a plus, and the company offers development opportunities and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining/replacement of mechanical parts including bearings, shafts, rollers.
• Skilled with hand tools, bearing presses and fitting tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
• Experience in maintaining and repair of mechanical equipment.
• IOSH training will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day maintenance on production machinery (planned and reactive).
• Record all work on the site CMMS system.
• Meet statuary and SHE standards as a minimum.
• Work on a variety of plant across the site as directed.
• Dynamic role requiring self-motivation and good communication skills.

In the role of Shift Fitter you will be responsible for:

• Day-to-day maintenance activities which include planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery
• Meeting statuary and SHE standards as a minimum
• This is a day-work role, working on a variety of plant throughout the block manufacturing site as directed on a planned or reactive basis
• You will be required to record all work on the site CMMS system
• This is a dynamic role, mostly self-motivated and self-supervised with good communication skills

The ideal candidate for the role of Shift Fitter you will have experience of:

• IOSH training will be an advantage
• Experience of maintaining/replacement of mechanical parts including bearings, shafts, rollers.
• Skilled with hand tools, bearing presses and fitting tools
• Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industry environment
• Experience in maintaining and repair of mechanical equipment
• Experience in welding and/or pipefitting would be advantageous
