Job summary

Stagecoach North East is hiring a Shift Fitter for our Slatyford Depot engineering team. The role includes maintaining and repairing our bus fleet to ensure high safety and reliability for customers. Shifts are arranged over a 5‑day period in a 7‑day week, with training provided for PCV if needed.

NVQ Level 3 in Engineering is essential. A PCV licence is preferred but not required, and overtime may push annual earnings toward £39k–£45k.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Fitter to join our Engineering Team at our Slatyford Depot.

At Stagecoach North East we operate over 400 vehicles, which connect our passengers across Tyne and Wear and Teesside with our engineering teams playing a fundamental role in ensuring our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Our depot at Slatyford is a purpose-built facility and we operate 90 buses from there.

The successful candidate will play a key role within our maintenance team to ensure our vehicles are maintained and repaired, so they remain available, roadworthy and reliable for our customers at all times.

This is a shift-based role, with shifts any 5 days over 7, which will be discussed at interview.

A PCV licence is preferred but not essential as training will be provided as required.

NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject is essential.

Salary: Potential to earn £39k - £45k per year with some overtime working.
