Job summary

Stagecoach North East is seeking a skilled Shift Fitter to join the Engineering Team at Slatyford Depot in Newcastle. You will maintain and repair our fleet to ensure vehicles are available, roadworthy and reliable for customers at all times, across Tyne and Wear.

This shift-based role operates five days in seven with training provided for PCV/licence optional. NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject is essential; the company offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for overtime.

• Engineering: 1 year (required).
• NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the Stagecoach fleet to ensure vehicles are available, roadworthy and reliable for customers at all times.
• Work within the Slatyford depot maintenance team to uphold high engineering standards.
• Support shift-based operations by contributing to on-time vehicle performance.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shift Fitter to join our Engineering Team at our Slatyford Depot. At Stagecoach North East we operate over 400 vehicles, which connect our passengers across Tyne and Wear and Teesside with our engineering teams playing a fundamental role in ensuring our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Our depot at Slatyford is a purpose-built facility and we operate 90 buses from there. The successful candidate will play a key role within our maintenance team to ensure our vehicles are maintained and repaired, so they remain available, roadworthy and reliable for our customers at all times.

This is a shift-based role, with shifts any 5 days over 7, which will be discussed at interview. A PCV licence is preferred but not essential as training will be provided as required. NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject is essential.

Salary: Potential to earn £39k - £45k per year with some overtime working.
