Job summary

Enfield-based Shift Engineering Supervisor position, overseeing a team of Maintenance Engineers and Technicians to maximise uptime and reliability. You will lead safety compliance, manage maintenance shutdowns, and drive continuous improvement while coaching staff and delivering strong operational results.

The role requires hands-on leadership, problem solving, and effective communication to align production, engineering, and management.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong CMMS experience.
• Budget and P&L management capability.
• Proficiency with MS Office and willingness to use Trello/Slack.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team (Maintenance Engineers and Technicians).
• Reduce downtime by planning work efficiently to maximise uptime.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring issues and improve reliability.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and manage permits to work with contractors.
• Plan and oversee scheduled shutdowns and critical maintenance activities.
• Communicate performance and priorities through effective handovers and reporting.
