Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Bromborough is seeking a Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team on a 4-on/4-off rotating shift. You will maintain and improve production equipment, ensuring reliability and safe operation across plant assets.

You will apply robust risk assessments, drive improvements, coach colleagues and support KPIs, while working to professional engineering standards and continuous improvement. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and offers development opportunities within a

Qualifications

• Qualified in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
• BTEC Engineering Certificate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical, PLCs and Inverter assets.
• Experience with risk assessment and safe maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site assets to a high standard, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Execute planned and reactive maintenance activities safely and efficiently.
• Drive plant reliability through hands-on interventions, improvements, and analysis.
• Apply and communicate robust safe systems of work and risk assessments.
• Deliver on Engineering KPIs.
• Support the development of standards for equipment and facilities.
• Manage engineering stock control and ensure accurate system records.
• Coach and train production colleagues to enhance equipment knowledge and performance.
• Promote a culture of professional engineering and continuous improvement.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and safety of our manufacturing equipment, supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
