Job summary
Hunter Selection is seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to join a busy engineering team in Bedford. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs across a high-volume operation, with a 5 days out of 7 shift pattern and attractive benefits.
You will carry out servicing, diagnostics and maintain documentation while ensuring safety, quality and compliance. The position offers development and progression within a well-established operation.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Shift Engineer or similar engineering role.
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / BTEC or equivalent qualification in HGV or PSV.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
- Commitment to health & safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repair activities
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics and fault-finding across a range of assets
- Perform mechanical and electrical repairs to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Complete all work in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
- Respond to breakdowns and support operational requirements when necessary
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance documentation
- Contribute to high levels of equipment availability and operational performance
