Job summary

BGIS UK & Europe is seeking a Shift Engineer to oversee the safe and efficient operation of building services at a Canary Wharf facility in London. The role covers mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems, with responsibilities for planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and urgent repairs.

You will work as part of a continental rotating shift team to support 24/7 operations, liaising with supervisors and clients, and coordinating with specialist contractors as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical skills in building services engineering (mechanical, electrical, HVAC) including data centers.
• Ability to perform preventive and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and basic repairs.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Respond to alarms and service requests promptly; maintain records and logs.
• Coordinate with supervisors, clients and contractors and support 24/7 operations.
