Job summary

Just Temps is supporting our client in Clacton-on-Sea to recruit a Shift Engineer. You will ensure production and site equipment operate at peak performance through planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and rapid breakdown response.

The position offers 42 hours per week on a 12-hour shift pattern (2 days and 2 nights, 4 rest days) with a salary of up to £42,600 per annum. Initially temporary for up to 12 weeks, it may go permanent for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, BTEC, HNC/HND in Engineering.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, professional and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Minimise production downtime and related quality issues related to machinery condition.
• Participate in fault finding, diagnostic and corrective actions to maintain and improve the operation of the process equipment.
• Act as incident coordinator (on shift) in the event of major breakdowns / incidents requiring the involvement / call in of other maintenance and support services
