CBW Staffing Solutions Limited seeks a Shift Maintenance Engineer for a direct client at a large commercial estate in Canary Wharf, East London. Electrically biased with C&G Level 3 and a proven track record in commercial electrical maintenance, you will join the on-site maintenance team for planned and reactive tasks.

The role offers a salary of £57,562 with shift allowance, overtime, training, and clear career progression. Hours are 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00 with a range of benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be electrically qualified and able to work safely on commercial electrical systems.
• City & Guilds Level 3 certification and 18th Edition wiring knowledge.
• Proven track record in building maintenance and electrical upkeep.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to maintain a traceable work history and records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspection, testing and maintenance of external electrical systems and lighting.
• Troubleshoot, repair and replace electrical components in outdoor environments.
• Maintain electrical infrastructure on bridges and water features, including lighting and control units.
• Perform diagnostics and plan preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and coordinate with contractors or suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and keep maintenance logs.

Shift Maintenance Engineer - Client Direct – Canary Wharf, East London - £57,562

Exciting opportunity to work for a Direct Client situated in the Canary Wharf, East London. CBW are currently recruiting for a Shift Maintenance engineer to be based in a large commercial estate building located in Canary Wharf, East London. The successful candidate will be electrically biased (C&G Level 3) with a proven track record in commercial electrical maintenance. Working with the maintenance team on site, He or she will be required to carry out electrical and mechanical planned and reactive maintenance to the following. In return the company is offering a competitive salary of £57,562, further training, overtime and career progression.

Duties

• Conduct routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of external electrical systems, including street and pathway lighting, car park lighting, and architectural lighting features.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical components and systems in outdoor environments, including junction boxes, control panels, and circuit breakers.
• Maintain and service electrical infrastructure on bridges, including power supply, navigation lights, and decorative lighting.
• Ensure proper operation and safety of water feature electrical systems such as pumps, lighting, and control units.
• Perform electrical diagnostics using appropriate tools and interpret results to determine required corrective actions.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules to ensure minimal downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or outages affecting outdoor electrical systems.
• Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and utility providers where necessary to coordinate repair and installation works.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and materials used
