Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Shift Engineer for a flagship City of London property. You will operate, maintain and monitor building services to keep the site safe, compliant and fully operational.

The role requires experience in commercial building services, strong fault-finding skills, and knowledge of statutory compliance with emphasis on safety and contractor coordination.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
• Previous experience within commercial building services.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of statutory compliance and safe systems of work.
• Experience working within a critical or high-profile commercial environment would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Operation and monitoring of BMS systems; fault finding on mechanical and electrical plant.
• Management of building services systems; support compliance activities and statutory inspections.
• Escort and manage specialist subcontractors; completion of maintenance documentation and reports.
• Participate in site emergency response procedures; support minor projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Building Systems include HVAC plant, LTHW & CHW systems, AHUs and FCUs, BMS, fire alarm systems, smoke ventilation, pumps, motors and controls.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and monitoring of building services systems, ensuring the building remains safe, compliant and operational at all times.
