Job summary

INSPIRED Pet Nutrition is hiring a Shift Engineer for our Crick site. You will maintain manufacturing assets, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement improvements across days and nights in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

The role requires electrical bias, multi-skilled capabilities, and CMMS familiarity, with a 4-on/4-off 12-hour shift pattern. A competitive package plus overtime awaits at Crick site.

Qualifications

  • Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent, with hands-on maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Time-served electrical or multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical bias.
  • Experience in FMCG/manufacturing environment.
  • CMMS experience and familiarity with reliability tools (RCM/FMECA/TPM/CBM).

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, predictive and corrective maintenance to maximise uptime.
  • Diagnose and fix electrical, mechanical and controls faults safely and efficiently.
  • Lead root cause analysis to stop repeat failures.
  • Drive improvements in equipment performance, cost and energy use.
  • Work to safety and food-safety standards.
  • Keep CMMS records accurate and use data to anticipate breakdowns.
  • Manage critical spares to avoid overstocking.
  • Participate in daily/weekly/monthly performance reviews.

Job description

Shift EngineerCrick | Permanent | Site-based | £64,646 per annum plus overtime

We're excited to be recruiting for a Shift Engineer to join our engineering team at Crick. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled engineer with a strong electrical bias, perfect for someone passionate about keeping plant running safely, getting to the root cause and making things better every shift.
You'll help keep our manufacturing assets safe, reliable and available. That means planned maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement, working closely with Production and Operations across days and nights.

Shift pattern 4 days on, 4 off, 4 nights on, 4 off, working 12-hour shifts (06:00 / 18:00 - 18:00 - 06:00). Your schedule is predictable and you get regular blocks of time off.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned, predictive and corrective maintenance to maximise uptime

  • Work to all safety, food safety and engineering standards
  • Keep CMMS records accurate and use the data to get ahead of breakdowns
  • Manage critical spares so parts are available without overstocking
  • Take part in daily, weekly and monthly performance reviews
About you
  • Electrical apprenticeship, HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Time-served Electrical Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong electrical bias
  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing
  • Confident fault finding across electrical, mechanical and control systems
  • CMMS experience and an understanding of reliability tools such as RCM, FMECA, TPM or CBM
  • Keen to keep learning and developing
  • NEBOSH, HACCP or Legionella awareness would be a bonus
