Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Whitehaven, UK, is seeking an electrician to join our engineering team. You will safely perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance to keep production lines running efficiently and to maximise machine uptime.

The role requires adherence to legal and local policies, calibration of tooling, and rapid response to breakdowns. You will develop cross-functional mechanical and electrical skills while contributing to a clean, safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified electrician with maintenance focus in an industrial setting.
• Ability to safely execute planned, preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Comply with legal and local maintenance policies and guidance.
• Develop cross functional mechanical and electrical skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safe execution of planned, preventative, and reactive engineering tasks in a timely manner.
• Comply to all legal and local policies & guidance relating to maintenance and machine setting.
• Working proactively as part of an engineering team to ensure maximum machine efficiency (reduce downtime and set-up time)
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards and a clean as you go policy.
• Setting and calibration of machine tooling ready for production in a safe and timely manner.
• Liaising with production operators to find root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
• Being the first point of contact for all machinery break downs on your assigned shift.
• Developing cross functional skills (mechanical and electrical)
