Job summary

Octric Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineering Technician to support manufacturing and development of established and new processes at our Newton Aycliffe facility.

The role is shift-based, covering manufacturing hours for troubleshooting and extending engineering development tasks. You will collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure process quality and yield improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume semiconductor environment.
• Strong grasp of manufacturing and engineering principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of statistical process control techniques.
• Creative approach to task execution.
• Knowledge of scientific experimentation techniques.
• Familiarity with semiconductor fabrication equipment concepts.

Responsibilities

• Be the process engineering representative during out-of-day shift hours across fabrication and test areas.
• Contribute to process development and optimization tasks.
• Support proactive and reactive improvement activities.
• Ensure adherence to engineering principles and procedures by staff in fabrication and test areas.
• Respond to out-of-control events and assist in disposition.
• Lead on-shift containment, investigation, diagnosis and resolution of process and wafer test issues.
• Coordinate with shift supervisor and technicians to align production priorities and urgency.
• Assist in training Operators and fellow technicians.
• Monitor, update and present production process status information.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and yield.
• Provide feedback to ensure continuity across the shift system.
