Job summary

SRG is seeking a Shift Analytical Chemist to join the South Yorkshire laboratory team. The role operates on a 4-on (2 days, 2 nights) / 4-off pattern, with a permanent contract and a salary of £30,000–£37,000 including shift allowance.

The candidate will perform sample preparation and analytical testing for metals and materials, ensuring compliance with ISO and safety standards, and reporting results during each shift.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in Chemistry, Metallurgy or Materials Engineering.
• Experience with sample preparation for metals and materials.
• Experience with XRF and ICP-OES is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sample preparation and perform analytical testing to meet internal and external customer requirements and deadlines.
• Operate safely and compliantly in line with Health, Safety, Environmental, ISO and Quality standards.
• Report test results, job updates, complaints and safety concerns to Shift Leaders as required.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and safe working areas across each shift.
• Support continuous shift operations through rota working and minimizing waste.

Salary - £30,000 - £37,000 (Including shift allowance)

SRG is working with a leading manufacturer of speciality metals, alloys and materials. Based in the South Yorkshire area, a vacancy has come up for a member of their analytical laboratory team. This would include a shift pattern working 4 days on, 4 days off, two days and two nights. The role would suit a graduate or experienced chemist with a background in analytical metal testing or a background in metallurgy. Role Description
