Job summary

McCarthy Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a SHEQ Manager in Warrington, a multi-site role with responsibility for safety, health, environmental and quality standards across the business. You will work closely with Directors and site managers to drive continuous improvement and a strong safety culture.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £55,000 per annum plus a company car, permanent full-time contract, and the chance to shape SHEQ across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Health & Safety, SHEQ, HSEQ or similar role.
• Driven, ambitious with a genuine desire to learn, develop and progress.
• Confidence working with senior leaders, site managers and frontline operational teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence, challenge and build relationships.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to take ownership.
• Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
• Understanding of internal auditing, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Ability to think independently and bring new ideas; collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to continuously improve SHEQ standards.
• Building strong relationships with Site Managers and encouraging a positive, proactive safety culture.
• Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
• Supporting the development and implementation of SHEQ policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
• Supporting ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Conducting internal audits, identifying areas for improvement and working with teams to maintain compliance.
• Investigating incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.
• Providing practical advice, coaching and guidance to employees at all levels.
• Supporting environmental compliance, quality standards and relevant legislation.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce risk and strengthen operational performance.
• Encouraging collaboration and shared responsibility for SHEQ across the business.
