Job summary

Cole & Yates Recruitment Ltd is assisting in recruiting a SHEQ Manager for a landscape construction and maintenance contractor. The role spans safety, health, environment and quality across projects in London and the South of England, with responsibility for policy, training and supplier compliance.

The successful candidate will lead the Integrated Management System, coordinate audits, and mentor a SHE Apprentice, while liaising with Directors and site teams to mitigate risk.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, including CDM 2015.
• Experience implementing and auditing Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001/14001/45001).
• Experience developing RAMS and management-system documentation.
• Experience with external compliance portals and pre-qualification schemes.

Responsibilities

• Act as the competent Health & Safety adviser for the company across projects.
• Review, maintain and improve SHEQ policies, RAMS, and inspection systems.
• Plan inspections/audits, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide SHEQ input from tender through mobilisation, construction and handover.
• Advise on CDM duties and contractor/supplier competency assurance.
• Maintain and improve the Integrated Management System and ISO certifications.
• Coordinate audits, surveillance, and non-conformity closure.
• Deliver SHEQ training and support competency development.
