Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?

As our SHEQ Manager you'll be a highly organised, efficient multitasking andflexible individual. You'll have proven team management experience who is keen to be part of a vibrant team.

You’ll be responsible for leading the SHEQ performance and managing a team supporting our Thames Water Capital Delivery and Mains Refurbishment Contracts. You'll be based across South London and Thames Valley.

As our Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Manager, you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team. You'll work closely with senior management and operational teams, ensuring a strategic and proactive approach to managing SHEQ performance while striving for continual improvement.

You’ll support and build ongoing client relationships, facilitate internal and external meetings, prepare and present SHEQ performance, reporting to parent company and clients requirements.

As you’d expect with this role you will act as a role model providing advice, guidance and governance. Proactively lead and develop the SHEQ team, whilst collaborating with Central SHEQ, to support operations, lead incident investigations, identify solutions and maintain mandatory standards.

This role is a full time area based role.

What you’ll bring

  • Do you have experience of the utilities and/or construction sector?
  • Have you gained experience of implementing and maintaining CDM requirements?
  • Are you CMIOSH with relevant qualifications and experience managing and developing a team?
  • Do you have the willingness and confidence in engaging with clients and interacting with stakeholders at all levelswhilst demonstrating high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example and promoting a positive safety culture?
  • Full UK driving licence – you’ll travel across operational sites and may include overnight stays.
