Job summary

Marshalls plc is seeking a SHEQ Compliance Leader to base at the Sittingbourne site. You will coach and develop site teams to ensure SHEQ compliance across Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, while maintaining independence and addressing issues across disciplines.

You will drive improvements, track KPIs and support audits, while partnering with operations to reduce waste and costs. A strong culture of safety and quality will be advanced across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a medium or large manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) compliance and legislation.
• Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Proven experience of quality management systems, process control and continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage customer complaints, non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Experience supporting and participating in internal and external audits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis techniques.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a strong Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) culture across the site.
• Ensure compliance with legal, environmental and ISO standards through effective management systems and audits.
• Monitor performance, analyse trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide SHEQ guidance, coaching and training to support employee development and site performance.
• Act as a key contact during internal, external and regulatory audits, ensuring site compliance is maintained.
• Track and report SHEQ KPIs, accident data and environmental performance metrics.
• Support quality compliance through audits, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead investigations into customer complaints and implement improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Work closely with operational teams to reduce waste, defects, rejects and rectification costs.
• Develop and embed quality standards, processes and best practices across the site.
• Support new product trials, capital projects and continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with technical and operational teams to improve quality, efficiency, compliance and cost performance.
• Champion high standards of housekeeping, safety and operational excellence.
• Build strong working relationships across the site, supporting a positive culture aligned to Marshalls values.
