Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) professional for a permanent, full-time role. The position is field-based, requiring a full UK driving licence and a commitment to a Zero Harm safety culture on social housing and maintenance projects in East London.

You will conduct site audits, deliver toolbox talks, manage SHEQ documentation, and support ISO audits. The ideal candidate brings NEBOSH certification, strong communication skills, and independent

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General or Construction Cert required.
• Experience in social housing, maintenance or minor works.
• Strong knowledge of SHEQ legislation and best practices.
• Experience with audits, reporting and compliance systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, organised and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Promote and implement a strong SHEQ culture aligned with a “Zero Harm” approach.
• Ensure full compliance with SHEQ policies, procedures and legal requirements.
• Carry out regular site audits, inspections and safety tours.
• Complete SHEQ reporting (daily, weekly, monthly), including incidents and KPIs.
• Support ISO audits and maintain SHEQ systems and documentation.
• Deliver toolbox talks, safety alerts and briefings to site teams.
• Monitor and analyse SHEQ data to identify trends and improvements.
• Maintain systems such as ECO-online and document control platforms.
• Encourage reporting of hazards, near misses and incidents.
• Support and guide site teams and SHEQ coordinators.
• Attend SHEQ meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
