Job summary

Adler and Allan in Portsmouth Dockyard is seeking a proactive SHEQ Advisor to support high‑quality SHEQ standards across the business. You’ll play a hands‑on role in keeping people safe, shaping best practice and promoting a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities include risk assessments, site inspections, incidents investigations and delivering inductions and internal SHEQ training. Essential NEBOSH General Certificate and Tech IOSH; driving licence required and SC clearance anticipated.

Qualifications

• Marine and MOD experience - essential
• Experience of assessing high risk activities - essential
• Thorough knowledge of confined space management - essential
• Excellent attention to detail and a natural ability to identify hazards
• Confidence in recommending practical risk‑reduction measures
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential
• Ability to hold Tech IOSH status – essential
• Additional qualifications such as ISO knowledge, PTLLS, Environmental Management or Internal Auditor – desirable
• Full clean driving licence
• Willingness to undertake further training and achieve SC Clearance

• Assisting with audits, spot checks and yard checks
• Promoting a positive safety culture across the organisation
