Project Partners is recruiting a SHEQ Advisor for an established team in Eastleigh, Hampshire. The role focuses on safety, health, environment and quality, supporting the SHEQ Lead and delivering improvement across sites.

Responsibilities include reporting, audits, training, incident investigations and liaising with clients. Must hold NEBOSH General or Construction and a UK driving licence; some travel is required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in utilities or construction.
  • Knowledge of relevant SHEQ regulations, standards and best practice.
  • Demonstrate a passion for safety, health, environment and quality with ongoing development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to sites in the Southeast; nationwide travel may be required intermittently.
  • UK driving licence is essential.

  • Keep up to date with legislation and developments affecting the industry.
  • Deliver safety learning Bulletins, toolbox talks and safety alerts.
  • Carry out D&A testing (training provided).
  • Conduct audits and inspections for compliance with procedures and laws.
  • Support incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Provide SHEQ inductions and participate in meetings.
  • Support the development and implementation of management systems.

Job description

Salary: Up to £40k depending on candidate experience (+ company car/van)

Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Hybrid

Hours: 45hr week, 7.30am - 5.30pm (3 days onsite, 2 wfh)

Project Partners are now recruiting for a SHEQ Advisor to come and join an established team in Eastleigh, Hampshire. Are you a SHEQ Coordinator ready for progression? Are you a SHEQ Advisor ready for change and a new challenge?

Purpose of role:

The SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for providing support and advice on all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, meeting legal, regulatory and company standards and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement.

SHEQ Advisors are responsible for providing assurance on site and supporting the SHEQ Lead to deliver SHEQ objectives for the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce reports on work/projects/activities carried out.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of legislation and any developments that affect the industry.
  • Act as a role model at all times in support of the company's vision, priorities and values.
  • Deliver learning bulletins, toolbox talks and safety alerts about SHEQ issues.
  • Carry out D&A testing as required (training provided).
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with procedures, laws and guidance.
  • Support incident investigations, analysing root causes, and support corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Report incidents in line with Company and Client requirements.
  • Provide SHEQ Inductions.
  • Attend company and client SHEQ meetings, as required.
  • Support the continuous development and implementation of management systems.
  • Review risk assessments, safe systems of work, construction phase health, safety and environmental management plans. Recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Identify training needs and escalating to the compliance manager, where appropriate.
  • Take part in employee meetings for SHEQ.
  • Actively participate in stand down events.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in utilities or construction.
  • Knowledge of relevant SHEQ regulations, standards and best practice.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for safety, health, environmental and quality with a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development in this field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and motivating personality.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to operational sites in the Southeast, although nationwide travel may be required intermittently.
  • Ability to provide out of hours on call support (as required).
