Job summary

South West Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Permanent Sheet Metal Worker for a precision engineering firm in Ferndown, Dorset. The role involves manufacturing and assembling sheet metal components from drawings in a busy production environment.

You will operate sheet metal machinery and hand tools, cutting, folding and finishing parts to exacting standards. Good attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble sheet metal components from drawings.

Location: Ferndown, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £16.00 per hour with occasional overtime paid at 1.5x
Hours: 39 hours per week, Days
Monday – Thursday: 7.30am – 4.45pm
Friday: 7.30am – 12.30pm

We are recruiting for a Permanent Sheet Metal Operative to join a well-established and respected precision engineering manufacturer based in Ferndown, Dorset.

The Role

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling precision sheet metal components, ensuring all work is completed accurately and to a high standard.

Your duties will include:

• Manufacturing and fabricating sheet metal components from engineering drawings.
• Cutting, folding, forming and assembling sheet metal parts.
• Operating a range of sheet metal machinery and hand tools.
• Carrying out drilling, tapping, countersinking and other finishing operations where required.
• Checking components against drawings and quality standards.
• Working with a variety of materials including stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Working closely with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing deadlines.

• Previous experience working as a Sheet Metal Worker within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
