Job summary

Airedale by Modine in Leeds is seeking a Line Leader in the sheet metal department to lead a team on the day shift. You will drive production targets, ensure adherence to the Sheet Metal Control Plan, and promote a culture of quality and safety.

The role requires strong communication, supervisory experience, and flexibility for overtime. You will collaborate with office and shop floor colleagues, develop standard work, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-moving manufacturing

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sheet metal production areas and powder coating.
• Ability to be flexible and available for overtime.
• Good communication skills.
• Supervisory experience would be an advantage.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships within all levels of the Company.
• Safety, Environmental & Quality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of reports to meet agreed production requirements.
• Contribute to proactive quality improvement culture and continuous improvement.
• Ensure Sheet Metal Control Plan is followed by the report.
• Assess and distribute work within the team.
• Actively participate in the company BBS process.
• Produce and maintain standard work.
• Maintain ADP time and attendance records and return to work interviews.
• Inform the Team Leader of issues requiring disciplinary action.
• Inform the Team Leader of accidents or near misses.
• Liaise with office and shop floor personnel/departments.
• Hold team briefings as required.
• Determine training requirements for the team.
• Make recommendations to improve and achieve departmental targets.
• Support health, safety, risk assessment and environmental policies within sheet metal.
• Stand in for Team Leader when required.
• Monitor performance against MOS/MPS matrix.

Position Description

We now have an opportunity for a Line Leader in our sheet metal department on the day shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of reports to meet agreed production requirements
• Recognise the ‘Voice of the Customer’ in everything we do by contributing to a proactive and preventive quality improvement culture, underpinned by the spirit of continuous improvement
• Ensure Sheet Metal Control Plan is followed by their report
• Assess and distribute work within the team
• Actively participate in the company BBS process
• Produce and maintain standard work
• Maintain ADP time and attendance records and return to work interviews
• Inform the Team Leader of any issues that may require disciplinary action

• To understand, promote and contribute to the company health and safety, risk assessment and environmental policies within sheet metal
