Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company is hiring a Line Leader for the Sheet Metal department on the day shift at our Leeds site. You will lead a team to meet production requirements and actively contribute to safety and quality initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will supervise, allocate tasks, and drive continuous improvement while liaising with office and shop-floor teams. Overtime flexibility and strong teamwork are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sheet metal production areas and powder coating.
• Ability to be flexible and available for overtime.
• Supervisory experience would be an advantage.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships within all levels of the Company.
• Safety, Environmental & Quality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to meet production requirements.
• Contribute to a proactive quality improvement culture.
• Ensure Sheet Metal Control Plan is followed by their report.
• Assess and distribute work within the team.
• Participate in the company BBS process.
• Produce and maintain standard work.
• Maintain time and attendance records and conduct return-to-work interviews.
• Inform Team Leader of issues requiring disciplinary action or accidents/near misses.
• Liaise with office and shop-floor personnel/departments.
• Hold team briefings and determine training needs.
• Make recommendations to improve departmental targets.
• Promote health and safety, risk assessment and environmental policies.

Position Description

We now have an opportunity for a Line Leader in our sheet metal department on the day shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of reports to meet agreed production requirements
• Recognise the ‘Voice of the Customer’ in everything we do by contributing to a proactive and preventive quality improvement culture, underpinned by the spirit of continuous improvement
• Ensure Sheet Metal Control Plan is followed by their report
• Assess and distribute work within the team
• Actively participate in the company BBS process
• Produce and maintain standard work
• Maintain ADP time and attendance records and return to work interviews
• Inform the Team Leader of any issues that may require disciplinary action
• Inform the Team Leader of any accidents or near misses
• Liaise with both the office and shop floor personnel/departments
• Hold team briefings as and when required
• Determine training requirements for the team
• Make recommendations to improve and achieve departmental targets
• To understand, promote and contribute to the company health and safety, risk assessment and environmental policies within sheet metal
• Required to support and stand in for Team Leader – when required
• To monitor individual performance against MOS/MPS matrix
