Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company in Bradford is seeking a Press Brake Operator to join the Sheet Metal Department as it builds self-sufficient capabilities. You will operate Amada press brakes, perform tool changes, and ensure outputs meet quality targets while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with automated press brakes, attention to detail, and initiative to contribute to continuous improvement as the team grows from scratch in a manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Operate Amada press brakes to meet output, efficiency and quality targets.
• Conduct tool changes and tool maintenance.
• Ensure completed work is checked, identified and handed off to assembly, weld, or paint in a controlled manner.
• Record output and quality information as specified.
• Support team leader and programmer in problem solving and continuous improvement for folding operations.
• Ensure all safety policies are followed and promote a safety-first culture.
• Contribute to department maintenance through basic 5S and cleaning activities.

Position Description

As part of Bradford’s development towards sheet metal self-sufficiency an excellent opportunity has arisen for
a Press Brake Operator reporting to the Sheet Metal Department Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

• To operate any of three Amada press brakes to achieve output, efficiency and quality targets
• To conduct tool changes and tool maintenance
• To ensure completed work is checked off, identified and passed on to assembly, weld or paint in a
  controlled and organised manner
• To record output and quality information as specified
• To support the Sheet Metal Team leader and Machine Programmer in problem solving and
  continuous improvement activities relating to the folding operation
• To ensure all safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times and to contribute to building
  a safety first culture in the department
• To contribute to the general maintenance of the sheet metal department by conducting basic
  maintenance, 5s and cleaning activities

Required Education & Qualifications

• Knowledge and extensive practical experience operating an automated Press Brakes
• Tool changeover
• Tool maintenance
• The desire to help construct a sheet metal department from scratch with an open mind to new
  innovative methods
• Ability to work independently and with initiative to achieve production targets
• Ability to perform part dimensional inspection and the mathematical ability needed to make machine
  adjustments
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Evidence of an inquisitive nature and spirit of continuous improvement
• Excellent communication skills and ability and desire to work as part of a team

Day shift - 6am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 11.40am Friday
