Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Foreman to lead daily factory operations in Sittingbourne. This hands-on role oversees production activities, develops staff, and ensures safe, efficient delivery of high-quality components to customers.

You will drive productivity, maintain quality standards, and meet delivery targets while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years' supervisory experience within a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of laser cutting, punch press, press brake, MIG/TIG welding, and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys.
• Organised, hands-on, and confident working under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the sheet metal production department.
• Allocate labour and machine resources to meet production priorities.
• Monitor workflow, productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
• Lead, coach, and develop production employees and Team Leaders.
• Conduct daily production meetings and shift briefings.
• Ensure customer specifications and quality requirements are met.
• Investigate production and quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain health and safety and housekeeping standards.
• Liaise with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Stores teams.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs including OTIF, labour productivity, quality, machine utilisation, scrap reduction, and health & safety performance.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm
