Job summary

Masstemps is actively recruiting a Sheet Metal Worker near the Walsall area to join a busy manufacturing company. You will set up and operate press brakes, read drawings, and fabricate ductwork and related components to specification.

The role requires proven sheet metal experience, ability to read technical drawings, and safe operation of guillotines, punch presses, plasma cutters, and folding machines. The position is on-site with standard daytime hours and a focus on quality workmanship.

Qualifications

Must have proven background in sheet metal work/fabrication.
Experience setting and operating press brakes.
Competent with guillotines, punch presses, plasma cutters, and folding machines.
Able to read and work from engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
Safe and efficient use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate press brakes to fold and form sheet metal to specification.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and job sheets.
Safely operate guillotines, punch presses, plasma cutters, and folding machines.
Measure, mark out, and cut sheet metal using hand and power tools.
Fabricate ductwork and related components meeting quality standards.
Set tooling on press brakes for different bends, radii, materials.
Carry out quality checks on finished components and rectify faults.
Work from technical drawings to produce ductwork and fabrication items.
Maintain a clean, safe workspace per health & safety.
Perform routine maintenance checks and report faults.
Work to meet production deadlines and schedules.
Liaise with workshop team and supervisors on progress and priorities.
Handle and stack materials safely, use lifting equipment when required.
