Sheet Metal Engineer – CNC Punch & Bend

Job summary

Pertemps is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Engineer in Avonmouth, Bristol. You will work in the CNC Punching, Bending and Fitting department, producing precise sheet metal parts as part of a small team. This role requires setting up Amada turret presses, Amada press brakes, and other equipment, plus off-line programming (Radan).

A minimum of 3 years' experience and strong accuracy are essential. You will liaise with the Engineering Manager and Production Planner to meet targets.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths & English (Grade C or equivalent).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience setting and operating an Amada turret press and press brakes.
• Experience with off-line programming (Radan or similar).
• Ability to re-set parts and check own work for quality.
• Flexibility to work across departments and assist where needed.
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel for job setup sheets.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Set-up and operate Amada Acute CNC Turret Press.
• Set-up and operate Amada Press brakes (HFE100-3 & HF50/12).
• Set-up and operate Hare 80T Press.
• Set-up and operate Pierce-All punching machine.
• General hand fitting bench work with jigs & fixtures.
• Liaise with Engineering Manager and Production Planner to meet targets.
