Job summary

Synthomer is seeking an experienced SHE Manager to join the Harlow site leadership team. You will lead Safety, Health and Environmental standards, ensuring compliance with COMAH and UK legislation, and partner with leaders, regulators and stakeholders to drive excellence.

You will own process safety and operational excellence, manage change, investigations and training, and champion a proactive safety culture across a high-hazard manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Safety, Health and Environment leadership in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of COMAH regulations and regulatory audits.
• Excellent incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
• Proven ability to drive continuous safety culture improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert SHE advice and ensure compliance with UK legislation and permits.
• Lead site SHE objectives, improvements and audits.
• Manage Permit to Work and high-hazard activities approvals.
• Oversee Management of Change processes for projects.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain SHE management systems and training programs.
